open affair

Poem by: Lorena Saavedra Smith

I opened the door to feel my wind and

I listened in silence the sounds of the

river making love to the ocean.

The birds were singing songs and

the little creatures

waking up from the ground

were crawling up my feet,

dancing at the rhythm of the waves,

kissing farewell to the logs of wood

traveling from far away downstream.

There was complete harmony.

I am in complete harmony.

Harmony it is.

Everything is in mutual companionship.

We all, the birds, the little creatures,

the waves, the woods, the wind,

what we see, and we can’t!

We all were part of this interminable

reciprocal loving journey between

the waters of earth.
